The recording at the center of this item is a Shilluk song. The King Ayang Anay had a house in Haj Yousif. So, when he went to the other side of the river [= died, BR] in 1992, the women of Takamol went for his funeral; the King was buried in Owiykyeel, his village in Pachodo District. But traditionally people go to the nearest place where the king had a house or where he rested in his lifetime. The composer is crying for King Ayang who was brave and protected the Shilluks during the war.
