ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS’ USES OF GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AT NORBERT ZONGO UNIVERSITY ANALYSE DES USAGES DE L’INTELLIGENCE ARTIFICIELLE GÉNÉRATIVE PAR LES ÉTUDIANTS DE L’UNIVERSITÉ NORBERT ZONGO

International audience The emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in higher education constitutes a major development that heralds significant transformations. This underscores the importance of examining current dynamics within our universities, both to anticipate and to proactively navigate these changes rather than passively endure them. Using a mixed-methods approach, a study was conducted at Norbert Zongo University among 374 students to analyze their use of this technology. The results indicate that ChatGPT and Gemini are the tools most used by UNZ students for text generation, while Perplexity AI and Consensus AI are the preferred tools for documentary research. The use of AI by students at this university supports their understanding of the knowledge taught, but also the completion of assessments. L'émergence de l'IAG dans l'enseignement supérieur est un évènement majeur qui ouvre à des changements, d'où l'intérêt de s'intéresser à ce qui se passe dans nos universités pour anticiper et ne pas subir les transformations en œuvre dans ces espaces d'apprentissage. En s'appuyant sur une approche mixte, une étude a été menée à l'université Norbert Zongo auprès de 374 étudiants afin d'analyser leurs usages de cette technologie. Les résultats indiquent que ChatGPT et Gemini sont les instruments les plus mobilisés par les étudiants de l'UNZ pour la génération de texte tandis que Perplexity AI et Consensus AI sont ceux préférés pour la recherche documentaire. Les usages de l'IAG par les étudiants de cette université soutiennent la compréhension des savoirs enseignés, mais aussi la réalisation des évaluations.
