In Nigeria, harnessing Artificial Intelligence plays a pivotal role in human capital development.
This study emphasizes the importance of utilizing Artificial Intelligence technology to drive
human capital development, improve lives, and promote economic growth, healthcare, education,
and the security sector in Nigeria. A qualitative research approach was adopted, using in-depth
interviews with four experts from the education, healthcare, security, and AI sectors. The key
findings from interviews with the experts reveal that AI can drive human development in Nigeria
by improving healthcare, education, and national security. Participants highlighted the potential
of AI to enhance access to quality education, improve healthcare delivery, and promote
transparency and accountability in governance. While AI holds great promise for Nigeria's
development, challenges such as a limited skilled workforce, inadequate infrastructure, and
promoting an innovative ecosystem must be addressed to fully realize its potential. Based on these
findings, this study recommends prioritizing AI development, investing in education and human
training, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, and developing infrastructure to support AI
development and deployment. The study's findings and recommendations will contribute to the
ongoing discourse on AI and human development, providing insights for policymakers,
researchers, and practitioners
