The adoption of e-learning systems has become increasingly important for improving teaching and learning in Nigerian educational institutions, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the growing interest in digital learning, several infrastructural, technological, and user-related challenges continue to influence the successful adoption of e-learning platforms. This study assessed factors influencing the adoption of e-learning systems in Nigerian educational institutions using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as the theoretical framework. A quantitative descriptive survey design was adopted. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered online to students and lecturers from Kaduna State University and Baze University, Abuja. A total of 62 valid responses were obtained through Google Forms distributed via WhatsApp, email, and Facebook. The collected data were analysed using descriptive statistics, specifically frequencies and percentages, with SPSS version 24. The findings indicate that most respondents perceived e-learning systems as useful and easy to use and believed that their adoption enhances teaching, learning, and ICT competence. However, respondents also identified challenges relating to infrastructure, internet accessibility, and institutional support. The study concludes that although respondents generally expressed positive perceptions towards e-learning adoption, improving ICT infrastructure, affordable internet access, continuous user training, and institutional support are essential for wider implementation of e-learning in Nigerian educational institutions. The study provides practical recommendations for educational administrators and policymakers seeking to improve digital learning in Nigeria.
