This meta-ethnographic study examines the awareness and use of modern contraceptives among physically challenged women in Africa, synthesizing insights from five qualitative, phenomenological studies. The research reveals fragmented and informal knowledge about contraception, shaped by unreliable sources and limited institutional support. Utilization is hindered not by disinterest, but by intersecting barriers including inaccessible health services, discriminatory attitudes, and cultural narratives that desexualize disabled women, collectively undermining their reproductive autonomy.
