Globally, AI is reshaping numerous sectors, but its widespread integration is increasingly sparking public integrity concerns. Africa confronts substantial hurdles, especially in its education sector. A key issue is the revelation that most African countries lack the national policy and legal frameworks essential for guiding AI's implementation in higher education. Moreover, higher education institutions themselves are often without specific policies governing AI usage. Despite AI's broad adoption by students and likely staff, many academic personnel remain insufficiently experienced with it. Consequently, this often results in serious ethical misconduct within academic settings.
