This dataset accompanies the study "Barriers and Enablers of Youth Technopreneurship in South Africa: An Empirical Analysis." It contains respondent-level survey data collected from 533 youth participants across six metropolitan municipalities in South Africa. The study investigates the barriers and enablers of youth technopreneurship by examining key factors, including training and empowerment, digital skills, access to finance, mentorship, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, social media and digital marketing, digital devices and infrastructure, community and institutional support, and willingness to engage in technopreneurship.

The dataset is accompanied by comprehensive sampling documentation, including the proportional allocation of respondents across the selected municipalities and the sampling framework used to identify youth policy stakeholders. All study variables were measured using four-point Likert-scale items, making the dataset suitable for a wide range of quantitative analyses, including descriptive statistics, reliability and validity testing, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, mediation and moderation analysis, and structural equation modelling (SEM).

This dataset provides a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners interested in youth entrepreneurship, digital entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, digital transformation, entrepreneurship development, and evidence-based policymaking. It contributes to a better understanding of the factors that influence youth participation in technopreneurship and offers empirical evidence to inform strategies and policies aimed at fostering inclusive digital entrepreneurship, employment creation, and sustainable economic development in South Africa.
