Baseline data were collected in 2022 from a representative sample of women, ages 18-49, residing in Kisumu County, western Kenya. Mutually exclusive and exhaustive enumeration areas were created across the county, and building structures were randomly sampled within each enumeration area using publicly available data. Selected structures were visited by trained female enumerators, who invited eligible women to participate in the study. Between 18 and 20 women in each enumeration area were enrolled, resulting in a final sample size of 2,484. For households containing more than one eligible woman, one was selected at random. Enumerators explained the study and enrolled participants using a written informed consent protocol. Data were collected from each consenting woman using a structured questionnaire to ascertain demographic characteristics, reproductive histories, contraceptive behaviors, contraceptive preferences, and access to family planning care. Data were collected on password-protected and encrypted tablets using the SurveyCTO platform.
