The dataset contains the results of the large Benthic Ecological Assessment conducted in 2023 along the entire Tanzania coastline (including Zanzibar) as part of the USAID-funded Heshimu Bahari Activity. The survey was conducted with photoquadrats with stations every 1km for all areas shallower than 50m. Each station was replicated three times. This dataset contains the average values for the replicates. Each photoquadrat was processed with CoralNet at 25 points and classified according to a simple benthic classification. A detailed report on the data collection methods and analysis is also shared. In the same dataset, we also packaged the results of LIT surveys conducted by WCS across multiple sites in Tanzania. The LIT data is from 2019 onward.
