Advances in AI have led to an increased attention on learning analytics dashboard applications in higher education, aimed at providing students with meaningful visual information and data-driven mechanisms to decision-making. Most learning analytics dashboards, however, only provide descriptive analytics. This chapter proposes a learning analytics dashboard that integrates AI, yielding an artefact with predictive capabilities on students' academic performance. The chapter highlights the development process and the challenges of using predictive analytics in higher education institutions. Finally, the chapter discusses future research directions and implications of developing AI-powered learning analytics dashboards for use in higher education.
