Child Poverty in Armed Conflict Regions of Africa : A Scoping Review Protocol

Child poverty is a global concern in armed conflict regions of Africa. Globally, Africa ranks second in the number of armed conflict regions, with poverty affecting one in four children (Amberg et al., 2023; Betancourt et al., 2020; Haer, 2019; Wagner et al., 2018). Armed conflict-affected settings are fragile, resource-constrained and experience difficulties in addressing poverty as per SDG 1. An initial search was conducted, revealing no current scoping review or systematic review on child poverty and the multidimensional aspects in armed conflict regions in Africa. Therefore, the scoping review’s objective is to identify the multidimensional scope of child poverty in armed conflict regions in Africa.
