This dataset combines aerial survey observations of 47 large-herbivore species across 326 African savanna protected areas (~699,244 km²) with environmental and climate predictor variables to assess how climate change may reshape herbivore communities. Using Boosted Regression Tree models, we link baseline (~2015) herbivore biomass to key drivers such as rainfall, water availability, and vegetation structure, and project future changes under RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios (2080–2100).
