Community-centred Digitalisation of Indigenous Agricultural Knowledge: Supporting Research Documentation and Extended data from Vhavenda Groundnut Farming, South Africa

This record provides supporting research documentation and Extended Data associated with the study entitled “Community-centred Digitalisation of Indigenous Agricultural Knowledge: An Empirically Derived Framework from Vhavenda Groundnut Farming, South Africa.” The study examines the documentation, preservation, digitalisation and governance of Indigenous agricultural knowledge relating to traditional groundnut farming, with particular attention to community authority, cultural protocols, intergenerational knowledge transmission and appropriate digital technologies. The deposited materials provide non-identifiable supporting documentation and aggregated research information intended to enhance the transparency and reproducibility of the study. Raw interview recordings, identifiable transcripts, identifiable participant information, and culturally sensitive or restricted Indigenous Knowledge are not included in the public deposit. These exclusions are necessary to protect participant confidentiality, community agreements, cultural protocols and principles of Indigenous Data Sovereignty. Version 2.0 includes supporting research documentation and an aggregated thematic summary; the semi-structured interview guide, focus-group discussion guide, participant-observation guide and participant information sheet; an ethics and data-access clarification note; and a blank example informed-consent form.
