Abstract: This study aims to conduct a thorough examination of the present state of corporate governance and its influence on the performance insurance companies in Ethiopia. The study utilizes a sample of published research papers acquired from diverse journals. The findings suggest that in Ethiopia, the investigation into corporate governance matters predominantly centers around board size, board independence, audit committees, and gender diversity. The literature yields inconsistent results. Performance are return on asset and return on equity, and corporate governance features affect it. These findings benefit academic policymakers, the National Bank of Ethiopia, insurance companies and other organizations.
