Data and code for generating 2020 and 2025 wildland–urban interface maps in sub-Saharan Africa

This record provides the data package used for the final wildland–urban interface (WUI) classification step for 2020 and 2025 in sub-Saharan Africa. The archive includes the Python script for WUI generation, the direct raster inputs required by this step, and the resulting WUI GeoTIFF tiles and VRT mosaics for 2020 and 2025. The WUI classification uses reclassified built-up percentage, reclassified wildland percentage, 2.4 km buffers around large core wildland patches, and original land-cover tiles for water masking. Output values are encoded as 0 = non-WUI, water or nodata, 1 = interface WUI, and 2 = intermix WUI.
