This dataset contains the field-measured leaf and rhizosphere-soil data and the analysis and figure code for a continental survey of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus (C, N, P) stoichiometry in the obligate halophyte Salicornia europaea across China. Samples were collected from 216 plant–soil pairs at 18 natural populations spanning 14.5 degrees of latitude (32.78 to 47.23 N) and eight province-level regions, grouped into four ecoregions (Arid Northwest, Hetao Plain, Loess Plateau, and Coastal). Twelve plants and twelve paired rhizosphere-soil samples were collected per site.
The deposit (Paper_data_and_codes.zip) contains the primary data workbook (Salicornia_Paper_StoichiometryDataset.xlsx), the full statistical-output workbook (StatisticalAnalysis_SalicorniaPaper.xlsx), two per-population result tables (PerPopulation_Homeostasis_Results.csv and PerPopulation_CV_Results.csv), a site-coordinate table (sites_for_python_map.csv), and the Python scripts that reproduce all statistical analyses and figures. The data support analyses of stoichiometric homeostasis, leaf–soil nutrient coupling, redundancy analysis, variance partitioning, and Koerselman-Meuleman nitrogen-limitation diagnosis. Empty cells indicate data not available; all concentration and ratio values are positive numbers. Scripts run in Python 3 (pandas, numpy, scipy, matplotlib, openpyxl; the map script additionally uses geopandas and shapely with GADM administrative-boundary shapefiles, which are third-party data not included here).
