Data and Code for: Testing for Urban Heterogeneity in Separability in Tanzania

Data come from Tanzania’s 2014-15 wave of the Living Standards Measurement Study and Integrated Surveys on Agriculture (LSMS-ISA) project, sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented with support from Tanzania’s national statistics office and the World Bank. Data are publicly available through the World Bank, Central Microdata Catalog. See project website (microdata.worldbank.org) for questionnaires, technical documents, a study description, the data dictionary, or to request the microdata. Relevant data and Stata code are provided in the spirit of transparency. For convenience, the zip folder contains the seven relevant data files needed for this analysis. The Stata do file is annotated as efficiently as possible. Run the code to setup the two samples used in the analysis. When finished, Stata will stop and display the following message: “Note: Setup complete. Select and execute remaining code to replicate the results.” From here, select and run code under table headings to replicate results from the paper and appendices. Note that an additional section of “Analysis” code must be run before replicating Tables 4 & 5, and then again for Tables A3 & A4.
