This deposit contains the primary data and R scripts supporting the article "Distinct coastal and montane plant assemblages in Algerian juniper woodlands: high turnover and implications for conservation monitoring" (Belaout, Stambouli-Meziane & Babali), submitted to Botany Letters. Fourteen permanent stations were surveyed in northwestern Algeria in 2023: eleven coastal stations dominated by Juniperus phoenicea subsp. turbinata and three montane stations of the Tlemcen Mountains dominated by Juniperus oxycedrus subsp. badia. Within each station, 23 randomly positioned, non-overlapping 100-m² vegetation plots were recorded using the Braun-Blanquet cover-abundance scale, giving 322 plot surveys and 320 vascular plant taxa. Analyses were conducted at station level and include Hellinger-based ordination, Ward classification, exact PERMANOVA and PERMDISP, indicator-species analysis, beta-diversity partitioning and Local Contributions to Beta Diversity. The deposit comprises the abundance and presence–absence matrices with environmental variables (Data.xlsx), station coordinates (Station Table.csv), the analysis script (analyse_juniperaies_CORRIGE_v3_1.R), the complete indicator-species results for all 320 taxa (IndVal 320 taxa.csv), the consolidated outputs (Results.xlsx), and the R session information. An earlier version of the indicator-species analysis contained an error identified by independent verification. All files report the corrected results published in the article: 66 associations with raw exact p < 0.05 and none remaining significant after Benjamini–Hochberg correction. The Corrections_log sheet of Results.xlsx documents each substitution. Full documentation is provided in README.md.
