Survey data were collected from 328 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Harare, Zimbabwe. The dataset was generated through structured interviews aimed at assessing awareness, adoption and perceptions of factoring as an alternative financing mechanism among MSMEs. The study also captured information on financial access, business characteristics and existing financing practices. MSMEs were purposively selected to ensure representation across different sectors and business sizes. The study was designed to generate evidence-based insights across the following interconnected objective was to examine the prevalence of factoring as a financing model among MSMEs and financial institutions in Zimbabwe. The study employed a rigorous mixed-methods design, combining large-scale quantitative surveys with structured Key Informant Interviews (KIIs).
