This dataset accompanies the manuscript "Small patches, big differences: how landscape structure shapes Scolytinae communities in pine plantations" (Agricultural and Forest Entomology). It contains abundance data of nine Scolytinae species collected in pine plantations of central Córdoba, Argentina, along with landscape metrics (patch area, isolation, total pine cover, mean inter-patch distance) used in the analyses.
The data were collected from November 2018 to February 2019 across nine pine patches using cross-vane panel traps baited with ethanol and turpentine.
Variables:
Date: sampling date (YYYY-MM-DD)
Site: sampling site / patch identifier
Amasa_parviseta, Cyrtogenius_luteus, Hylastes_ater, Hylurgus_ligniperda, Orthotomicus_erosus, Scolytus_multistriatus, Xyleborinus_saxesenii, Xyleborus_bispinatus, Xyleborus_ferrugineus: abundance per trap per date
AREA: patch area (ha)
ENN: Euclidean nearest neighbour distance (m)
CA: total core area of pine at landscape level (ha)
ENN_MN: mean Euclidean nearest neighbour distance at class level (m)
The R script (Scolitinae_MMI.R) is included to reproduce the statistical analyses.
