Information exchange is the foundation ofcollaborating, learning and adapting to achieveresilience outcomes. The responsibility of thosecollecting, using and sharing resilience information is tofirst ‘do no harm’ by making data security and privacyprotection a priority. Data responsibility is not just acompliance issue – although USAID AdministrativeDirectives require specific information systemcapabilities and high security standards. Confidencethat information is safe to share as an evidence basefor making and communicating decisions promotestimely and appropriate resilience action for collectiveimpact. Accordingly, the Digital Working Group(DWG) hosted data responsibility sessions in May2022 in Niger and Burkina Faso which aimed to discussthe key concepts and tools of data responsibility andidentify actions to be taken to safeguard personal data.
