This dataset supports the manuscript "Environmental Degradation from Artisanal and Large-Scale Mining in Amansie West District, Ghana, using Remote Sensing and Computer Vision" (Heliyon, Ms. No. HELIYON-D-26-00039), covering Amansie West District, Ghana, 2009–2024. It includes: a de-identified household socio-economic survey (n = 100) on mining proximity, income, and health outcomes; per-year Random Forest land-cover classification confusion matrices and accuracy statistics; a reconciled 2009–2024 land-cover transition matrix; YOLOv11-OBB + SAM2 mining-feature detection outputs (georeferenced polygons, EPSG:32630); trained YOLOv11-OBB model weights; and a representative failure-case figure illustrating model limitations. Full file descriptions, data dictionaries, and processing notes are provided in the accompanying README.md. Ethics: This study was approved at departmental level by the Head of Department of Geomatic Engineering, KNUST. The research involved a non-invasive household questionnaire only, with no biological sampling. Informed consent was obtained from all participants; all data are anonymised. License: CC-BY 4.0.
