Dataset of tweets from candidates' and newspapers' tweeting activity during Nigeria's 2019 presidential campaign

Dataset embodies raw tweets collected from the verified Twitter accounts of President Muhammad Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Twitter news posts of Daily Trust, The Punch, and Vanguard newspapers shared during the four months (Nov. 2018 to Feb. 2019) period of Nigeria's 2019 presidential campaign.
The following Twitter handles: @MBuhari, @atiku, @daily_trust, @MobilePunch, and @vanguardngrnews were monitored for data sourcing.
Data were systematically collected using a combination of Twitter Advanced Search API and two Google Chrome extensions, iMacros (personal edition) and FireShot (lite version), which enabled the archiving in portable document format (PDF) for easy reference.
