This report presents the design, simulation, and evaluation of a low-cost electric hospital bed intended for local manufacturing in Kenya. The study applies CAD modeling, material selection, structural simulation, and microcontroller-based control system design to develop a hospital bed suitable for healthcare facilities in resource-constrained settings. The work was originally completed as a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering final-year project at Kenyatta University in 2018 and has been revised for public dissemination through Zenodo.
