This chapter theorises cultural communities' alienation from their cultural roots due to the effect of deterritorialization, colonization, globalization and westernization, and this has also given rise to cultural change or acculturation. The chapter examined conversations concerning the reclamation of misappropriated heritage in cultural communities in Southern Africa. The study employed an Afronographic approach, which is an Afrocentric paradigm that places the interests of the African people at the centre of the analysis of the deterritorialization and reterritorialization of knowledge intending to reclaim ways of knowing and culture. Afrocentricity theory was employed to underpin this study because it is a novel research methodology that is deeply rooted in the African people's experiences, unlike Eurocentric theories that disorder Africans in the sideline of epistemology.
