Developing An Automated Database for Cadastral Information

This paper presents my final year project titled Development of an Automated Cadastral Information System Using Open-Source Tools. The study addresses the limitations of traditional analogue methods of managing cadastral information, such as high maintenance costs, data redundancy, and poor spatial integration. Using PostgreSQL, PostGIS, QGIS, and React.js, the project develops an automated system with Mandate Housing Estate in Ilorin, Kwara State, as a case study. Attribute and geometric data were collected, structured, and deployed on a Heroku server to design the spatial database and user interface. The resulting system supports spatial queries, enhances access to land data, and provides a scalable model for improving land management systems in Nigeria and beyond.
