The Enhanced Teachers Administrative and Learning Assistant (E-TALA) is a unified, cloud-ready educational management system designed to optimize school administration, academic scheduling, and performance tracking. Developed to address the logistical bottlenecks of traditional paper-based or fragmented digital school systems, E-TALA operates on a completely serverless architecture, utilizing Google Apps Script as the backend processing engine and Google Sheets as a dynamic relational database. This infrastructure ensures high availability, zero maintenance costs, and real-time data synchronization, making it highly suitable for educational institutions operating in low-resource environments. The software utilizes a dynamic Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) framework, adapting its Graphical User Interface (GUI) and data access privileges to three distinct user tiers: Administrator, Teacher, and Student. Key System Modules: Master Scheduler Engine: Features a dual-mode timetable generator. Administrators can manually construct schedules via a visual drag-and-drop interface or deploy the Batch Auto-Scheduler—a constraint-solving algorithm that automates class distribution while actively preventing teacher overlapping and room conflicts. Grades Portal & Academic Auditing: A high-speed, keyboard-optimized grading interface that automatically computes final averages. Administrators possess an institutional macro-view to audit grading compliance across all faculty members in real time. Advisory Class Management: Dedicated homeroom tracking tools allowing designated section advisers to view consolidated student report cards and monitor co-teacher grade submissions. Lightweight LMS (Materials): A digital distribution hub allowing faculty to dispatch cloud-hosted resources (PDFs, videos, links) globally to entire sections or privately to individual learners. Student Portal: A frictionless, read-only interface empowering students to independently monitor their weekly schedules, academic performance, and distributed learning materials. The E-TALA portal provides a robust, zero-cost framework for digital school transformation, serving as the foundational artifact for research into scalable educational technologies.
