Operators of fleets of cars or motorcycles have challenges managing drivers' behaviour, battery energy, and security of their investment and personnel. This has heightened with the high rate of insurgency in Nigeria and many African countries. To address these challenges, a tracking system is developed for an electric motorcycle to track the position, energy, and driver's identity and behaviour, making them available to a transport system administration on a secured web interface over a network. The device leverages a microcontroller sensor-based data acquisition system to sense different parameters, web-based remote logging, and Google Maps for determination of geographical location. Results obtained show the effectiveness of the developed system to track the electric motorcycle that was converted from a fossil fuel motorcycle. The work will promote security of lives and properties as well as provide a platform for planning and administration of e-mobility devices as Africa prepares to transition from fossil fuel to the green economy.
