Digitization of Primary Schools through Computer Managed Instruction Programme in the Teaching of Science in Ilorin Metropolis

This study investigated the influence of digitization, on Computer Managed Instruction Programme in the teaching of science in primary education within Kwara State. Employing a descriptive survey research design, 448 primary school teachers participated inthe study. Data were analysised using frequency counts and percentages. The findings revealed a predominant adoption of a teacher-centered digitization approach, with readily available digital materials considered adequate for science instruction. Notably, approximately 90.2% of teachers exhibited proficiency in tablet usage, indicating a positive influence of the Kwara LEARN programme on science teaching. The study discovered the prevalent teacher-centered approach to digitization in Kwara State, the sufficiency of available digital materials for teaching science, and the positive influence of digitization on primary school science teaching. It was recommended that ensuring widespread availability of digital materials in all primary school in Kwara State is imperative for effective science teaching in primary schools.
