Title: Dr. Lamba's Land Layout (LLL) App or L cube App: An Interactive Calculator for Agricultural Experimental Design Description: Dr. Lamba's Land Layout (LLL) App L cube App is a browser-based, interactive software tool developed to assist agricultural scientists, agronomists, and field researchers in the precise mathematical planning and spatial visualization of field experiments. Proper field layout is essential for minimizing experimental error and ensuring accurate statistical analysis in crop research. This application automates the complex geometric calculations required to translate experimental protocols into physical field dimensions, eliminating manual drafting errors. Key Features: Supported Experimental Designs: Natively supports both Randomized Block Design (RBD) and Split Plot Design, automatically generating randomized treatment distributions for multiple replications. Comprehensive Spatial Parameters: Allows users to input exact row-to-row spacing, plant-to-plant spacing, inter-plot gaps, replication gaps, and farm boundary margins. Fixed Area Optimization: Includes a dynamic algorithm that calculates whether a desired plant population and layout will fit within a strictly defined available land area. If the original parameters exceed the physical space, the tool recalculates to find the optimal maximum plant population that will fit. Automated Data Outputs: Instantly generates a comprehensive dimensional summary, including individual plot widths, lengths, total layout area, and the total physical farm area required (inclusive of safety margins). Visual Field Mapping: Renders a randomized, scaled ASCII visual representation of the experimental layout directly in the browser, showing plots, sub-plots, main plots, and structural gaps. Local Execution: Functions entirely offline through client-side HTML and JavaScript, ensuring researchers can use the tool directly in the field or in remote research stations without internet access. Usage: Download the associated HTML file and open it locally using any modern web browser. The tool requires no installation, server deployment, or external dependencies.
