This paper explores the frequent collapses of the national power grid in Nigeria and the role of public administrators in preventing and managing these critical infrastructure failures. It examines the technical causes behind grid collapses, the administrative inefficiencies contributing to them, and offers strategic recommendations to enhance the education and capabilities of public administrators. Emphasis is placed on real-world scenarios, such as grid frequency imbalances and operational challenges faced by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), and the need for systemic improvements.
