EF and Mental Health dataset_2.9.2026

This repository contains de-identified individual-level survey data from 3,058 adults in Botswana, Ghana, Nigeria, and Tanzania collected between April 2020 and November 2022 using the Sonde Health digital platform. The dataset supports analyses examining associations among COVID-19 symptom burden, chronic disease, mental health, health behaviors, and executive function measured with the Stroop Color–Word interference task.

Content Overview:
The dataset includes the following domains:

• Sociodemographics: age, sex, education, employment status, country
• COVID-19 variables: self-reported symptom count and symptom categories
• Chronic disease: number and type of diagnosed conditions
• Mental health: GAD-7 (anxiety) and PHQ-9 (depressive symptoms)
• Health behaviors: moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (minutes/week), sedentary time
• Self-rated health
• Executive function: Stroop Color–Word interference score

De-identification and Ethics:
All direct identifiers were removed prior to deposit. Geographic information is limited to country level, and no names, contact details, IP addresses, or dates of birth are included. Data sharing complies with institutional ethics approvals and participant consent provisions.
