Effect of ICT and Information Literacy Skills of Librarians on Services Provision to Undergraduates in Academic Libraries in Ogun State.

Abstract
This study examined the impact of ICT and information literacy skills of librarians on services provision to undergraduates in academic libraries of Ogun State. Students today are faced with explosion of information resources as well as the challenge of using these resources effectively  and responsibly. Consequently, librarians need to shift their focus from providing technical
assistance on using library resources to assisting students develop information literacy skills. Descriptive research design was used for this study, four research questions were formulated while self structured questionnaire was used as research instrument; and 45 librarians were selected in three tertiary institutions in Ogun state which include Tai Solarin University of
Education, Ijagun, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye and Babcock University, Ilisan Remo. The result of the study showed that librarians in academic libraries have ability to use information tools such as computers and mobile gadgets. There is significant relationship between information literacy skills of librarians and service provision in surveyed academic libraries. Based on the result of this study, it was recommended that, librarians should undergo training and retraining in ICT in other to increase their knowledge and expertise.
