
Dataset overview:
This dataset contains anonymized test score data used in the manuscript “Ethnomathematics, Cultural Context, and Conceptual Understanding of Circle Theorems: Evidence from a Ghanaian Quasi-Experimental Study.” The dataset was generated to examine the effect of ethnomathematics-based instruction on students’ achievement in circle theorems.
Study design and data collection:
The data were collected using a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test non-equivalent groups design. The study involved 185 Form Two Senior High School science students in Ghana, divided into an experimental group (n = 92) that received ethnomathematics-based instruction and a control group (n = 93) that received conventional instruction. Achievement data were obtained using a researcher-designed Circle Theorems Achievement Test (CTAT), administered before and after a four-week instructional intervention.

The dataset includes anonymized individual-level test scores for pre-test and post-test assessments, group membership (experimental or control). Data files are provided in a structured, machine-readable format suitable for statistical analysis.
