Event-level camera-trap data for black-backed jackals and bat-eared foxes in northern Botswana

Event-level camera-trap dataset underlying the analyses presented in “Dancing in the Dark: Diel synchrony and limited temporal segregation between black-backed jackals and bat-eared foxes in northern Botswana”. The dataset contains 2,910 independent camera-trap events used in the analyses. Consecutive detections of the same species at the same station within 5 minutes were grouped into a single event, with the first detection timestamp retained. Variables include record identifier, station, species, date, time, season, and diel period. Geographic coordinates are not included due to conservation sensitivity.
