The BraTS-Africa dataset contains a curated and annotated dataset from Africa. It includes scans of 95 patients diagnosed with glioma and 51 patients diagnosed with other neoplasms of the brain. The dataset is a collection of retrospective pre-operative scans, acquired from six diagnostic centers in Nigeria. The brain scans were multiparametric MR images (mpMRI), specifically T1, T1 CE, T2, and T2 FLAIR, acquired on 1.5T MRI between January 2010 and December 2022. The MRI data were pre-processed according to the Brain Tumor Segmentation (BraTS) image processing protocol. The expert-annotated tumor subregions for each of the 146 cases are provided along with a metadata (csv file) of study location, scanner type, where available.
