Fake news will undermine African response to COVID-19

Wilful efforts to cover up the scale of COVID-19 in several states may erode public confidence in the state if fatalities start to mount. Donors, civil society and global health groups will increase pressure on Facebook and Twitter to curb fake news amid failing state efforts.
