Existing digital tools and mobile applications in Uganda are often tailored towardsmallholder farmers, focusing on basic advisory services such as weather updatesand simple market price information. However, they rarely address the complexneeds of larger farms, including zoning, multi-crop monitoring, data analytics, andintegration with market intelligence systems (Kikulwe, Okurut, Ajambo, &Atekyereza, 2019). This gap reduces the efficiency and profitability of medium andlarge-scale farmers, who increasingly operate in a competitive and globalizedmarket.FarmNet seeks to fill this gap by providing a smart IoT and market-linked platformdesigned to support precision agriculture and commercial farming in Uganda.
