Fathers Involvement in Child Feeding and Its Determinants Among Children Aged 6 to 24 Months in Fiche Town, Central Ethiopia: Evidence From a Community-Based Study

Fathers involvement in child feeding plays a vital role in improving child nutrition. This study aimed to assess fathers involvement in child feeding and associated factors among children aged 6-24 months in Fiche Town, Central Ethiopia. A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from July 30 to August 30, 2024, among 415 fathers selected using a systematic random sampling technique. Data were collected using Open Data Kit and analyzed in Stata version 17 using bivariable and multivariable logistic regression. Overall, 45.78% (95% CI: 41.0,50.6) of fathers were engaged in child feeding. Fathers aged 19-30 years (AOR = 1.86; 95% CI: 1.01, 3.42), good knowledge (AOR = 1.53; 95% CI: 1.01, 2.31), and a favorable attitude (AOR =0.49; 95% CI: 0.33, 0.75) were significantly associated with fathers involvement. The level of father’s involvement in child feeding was low.
