It contains a balanced panel of 14 countries from the CEMAC and UEMOA monetary unions covering 2005–2021. The dataset includes the composite Financial Repression Index constructed through principal component analysis (PCA) using four standardized indicators: interest rate spread, inverted domestic credit to the private sector, inverted broad money (M2), and inverted real interest rate. Additional macroeconomic variables—GDP growth, trade openness, inflation, population growth, and gross capital formation—are sourced from the World Bank’s World Development Indicators. The repository provides: 1. Excel file 2. Python code These materials enable full replication of the study’s fixed‑effects regressions and robustness checks, supporting transparency and further research on financial repression in African monetary unions.
