This collection contains datasets and code produced as part of the Foodshed Information Service (FIS), developed within the SAFE4ALL Horizon Europe project. The FIS aims to translate climate, agriculture, and socioeconomic information into decision-relevant knowledge for food availability planning in Sub-Saharan Africa, targeting agricultural extension officers, national meteorological agencies, and food security policymakers in Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.
The collection encompasses outputs from two components. The Yield Forecast Tool provides seasonal crop yield forecasts by forcing the LPJmL process-based crop model with bias-corrected ECMWF SEAS5 seasonal climate forecasts. The Foodshed Analysis component integrates crop yield projections with socioeconomic and demographic change to produce long-term foodshed scenarios under SSP pathways, assessing integrated impacts on food availability from seasonal to end-of-century timescales.
Datasets include bias-corrected and downscaled seasonal forecast forcing, processed crop yield outputs, foodshed scenario outputs, and supporting metadata. All datasets are accompanied by code repositories enabling reproduction of the analysis.
