A vital parameter for measuring the cost-effective growth of a nation is the rise in the number of vehicles. The net effect is a rise in traffic congestion. In addressing the demands of an overgrowing city, the traditional traffic lights control system deployed in cities is not adequate since these traffic lights have specific timing intervals already programmed to change from one state to another. This has become a fundamental clause that most of the cities in developing countries are facing in spite of several measures being put in place to alleviate it. Over the years, traffic congestion has become seemingly real as one of the fundamental challenges in urban areas across the globe. With the introduction of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), several attempts have been made to automate traffic transition. Some researchers suggested using various strategies and computerized sensor frameworks to examine traffic density in tackling the congestion issue. These approaches are centered only on the traffic light without any consideration of the route of the vehicles.
