Gender in poverty reduction. Critical Explorations of Norwegian Aid Policy on Gender Equality and Womens Rights, 2011

The project has examined gender in developmental aid, focusing in particular on conceptualizations of gender and gender equality in Norwegian and global development policies seen in relation to equivalent conceptualizations found in in various African settings. The project has also studied the implementation of a few specific development projects focusing on gender issues/gender equality. In addition to analysis of central Norwegian policy documents and interviews with development actors in Norway, case studies have been conducted in Ethiopia and Tanzania.
