Amid the ever-growing list and characterisation of rare genetic diseases globally, as well as predisposing factors and interventions to eliminate or reduce the incidence of these genetic disorders, a multiple approach search into what information is available presently beckons. Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) such as Nigeria have borne a significant burden of genetic disorders with little or no improvement over the years as a result of a lack of policies and infrastructures, among other factors. Informed decisions need to be taken using current epidemiological studies to identify the prevalence and distribution of these genetic disorders, hence necessitating this study.
