This project analyzes the yearly distribution of healthcare staff across the sixteen administrative regions in Ghana # GHS-Healthcare-Workforce This project analyzes the yearly distribution of healthcare staff across the sixteen administrative regions in Ghana # 1.Overview This project provides a comprehensive analysis of how the Ghana Health Service’s healthcare workforce is distributed across all 16 administrative regions in the country in a span of four years from 2020 to 2023. Drawing on data from the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the objective was to graphically represent staffing levels and uncover patterns, shortages, and regional imbalances to support subsequent decision making in the health industry. # 2.Objective The primary goal of this project was to create a descriptive analytics dashboard which answers the following: ● How is the health workforce distributed across Ghana by region? ● What is the year-by-year growth or change in staffing? ● What are the minimum, average, and maximum numbers of health professionals per region? ● Which region consistently has the highest or lowest numbers? # 3.Methodology • Step 1: Data Cleaning As part of the data cleaning process, empty rows were removed, column headers were corrected for consistency, and region names were standardized to ensure uniformity across the dataset. This was done in Excel. ○ All number columns were kept in a proper numeric format. • Step 2: Import and Modeling in Power BI Data was imported in single-table flat file Column data types were verified Aggregates such as the sum, average, maximum and minimum of medical doctors were calculated. • Step 3: Visual Design Interactive dashboards were developed for each year(2020–2023). Cards were used for totals (Total, Average, Max,Min). Bar and line charts provided clear visual region-wise comparison. # 4.Key findings • Overall Growth: The total number of medical doctors increased from 1,447 (2020) to 2,063 (2023), a growth of ~43%. • Top Region: Greater Accra consistently recorded the highest number of doctors, reaching 702 in 2023. • Underserved Regions: Regions lik …
