# African Autonomy Index (AAI)
### First Iteration 2026 | Heritage Builders LLC
The African Autonomy Index (AAI) is a 100-point composite index measuring
structural sovereignty across all 55 member states of the African Union.
It is the first index built explicitly on an Afrocentric normative framework,
grounded in the intellectual traditions of Cheikh Anta Diop, Walter Rodney,
Samir Amin, W.E.B. Du Bois, Amilcar Cabral, and the Organization of
Afro-American Unity platform of 1964.
The AAI measures two equally weighted dimensions:
- **Economic Sovereignty** (8 indicators, 100 points)
- **Political Integration** (7 indicators, 100 points)
Composite Score = (Economic Sovereignty + Political Integration) / 2
Countries are classified into four phases:
- Phase 1: 0-35 | Phase 2: 36-60 | Phase 3: 61-80 | Phase 4: 81-100

## Validation
The AAI First Iteration 2026 methodology is currently undergoing independent
Red Team review by faculty and scholars at Fisk University. The review covers
three areas: Afrocentric guardrail integrity, mathematical and scoring logic,
and the historical reading protocol. Validation findings will be incorporated
into AAI v1.5, scheduled for release April 2027.
