# Climate-Livelihood Shocks and Household Protection Gaps in Somalia
This repository shares concise, derived, non-identifiable outputs from a SIHBS 2022-based analysis of climate-livelihood shocks, erosive coping, household food insecurity, and protection gaps in Somalia.
## Project title
**Climate-Livelihood Shocks and Household Protection Gaps in Somalia: Evidence from SIHBS 2022**
## Purpose
The repository is designed as a compact public research mini-project to communicate selected derived results, figures, and reproducible code templates without sharing restricted microdata.
## Key findings
- Climate-livelihood shocks affected **70.8%** of households.
- Moderate/severe food insecurity affected **42.8%** of households.
- Erosive coping was reported by **18.3%** of households.
- Formal support reached only **4.1%** of households.
- A household protection gap affected **17.1%** of households.
- A severe protection gap affected **9.0%** of households.
- Nomadic and livestock-owning households carried the highest descriptive burdens.
- Drought-related livestock loss was a consistent marker of protection gaps among shock-exposed households.
