# Financial Stability and Economic Crises in Africa (1860–2014) A data-driven analysis of banking, debt, currency, and inflation crises across 13 African countries, with a predictive model for systemic crisis risk. ## Project Objective Analyze financial stability in Africa from 1860–2014, identify the key economic factors linked to financial crises, determine the inflation level at which crisis becomes far more likely, examine debt default patterns, and build predictive models for crisis risk. ## Interactive Dashboard A Streamlit dashboard (`dashboard/app.py`) provides an interactive view of the analysis: crisis trends, the inflation threshold, debt/correlation analysis, model comparison, and a live crisis-risk predictor. ### Run locally ```bash cd dashboard pip install -r requirements.txt streamlit run app.py ``` ### Deploy for free (Streamlit Community Cloud) 1. Push this repo to GitHub (see below). 2. Go to share.streamlit.io and sign in with GitHub. 3. Click **New app**, select this repo, set the branch to `main`, and set the main file path to `dashboard/app.py`. 4. Click **Deploy**.
