Spatial Accessibility of Primary Health Centres to Roads in Yobe State Project Overview This project investigates the spatial accessibility of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Yobe State, Nigeria. The project will identify Primary Health Centres that are located more than 10 km from an all-season road. The analysis will use spatial data on health facilities, roads, and administrative boundaries to identify potential areas where physical road access to primary healthcare facilities may be limited. Spatial Question Which primary health centres in Yobe State are located more than 10 km from an all-season road? Study Area The study area is Yobe State, Nigeria, including its Local Government Areas (LGAs). The analysis will focus specifically on Primary Health Centres within Yobe State and their proximity to the available road network. Why This Question? Access to primary healthcare depends not only on the availability of health facilities but also on physical accessibility. Mapping the distance between PHCs and roads can help identify facilities that may have weaker physical connectivity and can provide a useful starting point for understanding healthcare accessibility in Yobe State. Datasets 1. Primary Health Centres The project will use information on Primary Health Centres in Yobe State, including facility names, locations, and geographic coordinates.
