This repository contains code used to analyze data from NDC and NAPs, which form the basis of the publication "Opportunities to strengthen Africa’s efforts to track national-level climate adaptation" (Nowak et al, Nature Climate Change, Opportunities to strengthen…). "AdaptationElements_Processing": processing data published on Harvard Dataverse and used in the analysis 2. "Coverage": Assessment of NDCs and NAPs by the coverage criterion 3. "Consistency" : Assessment of NDCs and NAPs by the consistency criterion 4. "Robustness" : Assessment of NDCs and NAPs by the robustness criterion 5. "Adequacy": Assessment of NDCs and NAPs by their adequacy (creation of index based on weighted scores for coverge, consistency, robustness) 6. "Statistical analyses" performed to assess differences in adequacy and criteria scores across NDCs and NAPs 7. "Models": linear regressions to determine factors influencing adequacy scores.
